GODBY Realty & Auction has been a trusted name in real estate and auctions throughout the Lake Cumberland region for more than six decades. The company was founded in 1965 by the late Samuel Ray Godby, whose reputation, work ethic, and commitment to serving his clients established the foundation upon which the company continues to operate today.
Over the decades, GODBY Realty & Auction has represented generations of families through the sale and purchase of homes, farms, land, estates, businesses, and personal property. From traditional real estate transactions to live and online auctions, our company has continued to evolve with the industry while remaining firmly grounded in the personal service and local expertise on which it was built.
After a long and distinguished tenure as Owner and Principal Broker, Mr. Godby stepped away from that role in 2009, while remaining with the company, and ownership passed to Rick Barker, a longtime member of the GODBY team who had first joined the company as an auction clerk in 1998. By that time, Rick had earned his licenses as a Principal Auctioneer, REALTOR® and Principal Broker and brought with him not only years of auction and real estate experience, but an extensive knowledge of Pulaski County and the people who call it home.
Under Rick's leadership, GODBY Realty & Auction has continued the tradition established by Samuel Ray Godby while expanding its capabilities to meet the needs of today's buyers and sellers. Our team combines decades of hands-on auction experience with modern real estate marketing, digital advertising, and online bidding technology to provide clients with comprehensive options for bringing property to market.
Throughout our history, we have conducted thousands of auctions, involving everything from family estates and personal property to farms, residential and commercial real estate, equipment, business liquidations, and more.
